As part of efforts to bring democracy dividends to the grassroots, the Executive Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Hon Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam has installed over 500 street lights.
According to a statement issued by his media aide, Mr Sunny Nkama, the council chairman has improved the aesthetic nature of the area, saying that the installation of the solar street lights has significantly helped in curtailing criminal activities as well as ensuring that residents can move around freely, even at night, without fear of being attacked or robbed by hoodlums.
He also expressed satisfaction with his style of leadership, adding that his emergence as council chairman has brought hope to the less privileged and the downtrodden.
Mr. Nkama also appreciated the efforts of Governor Francis Nwifuru in restoring the lost glory of Ebonyi state.
