Buhari, APC have good plans to transform Nigeria – Senator Buhari …says Saraki ought to resign while facing CCT trial

Chairman Senate Committee on ICT and member Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Fatai Buhari has said President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have good intentions and plans to transform Nigeria into a better country
The Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial districts who disclosed this in Ibadan while speaking with journalists on the state of the nation, declared that he would have resigned from his position if he is facing a trial like the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki.
Senator Buhari pointed out that there was no doubt in the fact that they have by now discovered the country’s major problem and more than before ready to surely fix the challenges and move Nigeria forward.
”We are very sorry about the current situation of things in the country, nobody ever envisaged that things were that worst in the country under previous administration, but we have seen it now and we will surely fix it. We understand what Nigerians are passing through and we won’t make it hard on them till we solve the problems, what we promised Nigerians is safe landing and we shall surely deliver on our promises” he said.
The Chairman Senate Committee on ICT added that “President Buhari and the APC as a party have good intentions and plans to transform Nigeria into a better country and this I am sure he will achieve within the phase of four years we have in power”.
“Nigerians voted for us and we will not betray the confidence reposed in us. They should just be more patience. Nobody ever envisaged that things were that worst in the country under previous administration”.
Speaking on the fuel scarcity presently rocking the country, Senator Buhari urged the federal government to hasten its action on going into private partnership with private organizations in fixing and making our refineries function effectively.
“We are in this  mess because we don’t have maintenance culture, if we had maintain the existing refineries in the country we don’t need to import fuel and I am sure with PPP there will be a total turnaround of the situation. Beyond oil, we are also looking at how our ICT can also serve as a huge source of income for us.
 
“Korea didn’t have oil they built their economy on ICT and today the country is one of the most advance country of the world”.
On the 2016 budget, the member Senate Committee on Appropriations hinted that “the mistakes and errors about the budget have been corrected and the details submitted to the President for signing and implementation”.
On the predicament of the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki who is facing trial before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Senator Buhari declared that he would have resign from his position if he was facing a trial like the Senate president, saying,“I hate to talk about personalities but on issues. But on this matter as a person, I would have did the same thing the President of Iceland did, I will resign from that position whether I am right or wrong”.
