Borno Women Groups Condemn Tudun Biri Bombing,  Urge FG, Agencies To Investigate, Compensate Victims

All Muslim Women Associations  in Borno State have  strongly condemned what they termed as  “the barbaric bombing”  of innocent Muslims observing Maulud Nabiyyu Festival in Tudun Biri Village of Igabi LGA of Kaduna State recently. 

They also called on the federal government  and its agencies to intervene by addressing the salient issues arising from the shameless incident for the sake of peace, unity abd stability of the country. 

The spokesperson of the association, Hajiya Adama Muhammad who is also the Executive Director of Al Iklas Waqf Trust Foundation Borno State, expressed  this at a press briefing with journalists  at the conference hall of the Iklas Waqf Trust Foundation in Maiduguri yesterday. 

She said, ” We wil highly appreciate, if the Federal Government and its agencies concern will adhere ta our advice and address the issues raised for peace, unity and stability to reign in our communities.” 

Hajiya Adana also  explained that the Muslim Women Association  demands  an immediate investigation and disciplinary action against the perpetrators of such dastardly act to serve as deterrent to others.

“While we appreciate the visit of the Vice President and the offer of

compensation to all victims by the Chief of Army Staff, we also demand an immediate investigation and disciplinary action against the perpetrators of such dastardly act to serve as deterrent to others and put  restraint in all fabrics of our society

“With this thing done to our people,  we are calling on the President to  implement the suggestions  of the findings of the panel of inquiry.

 “We are gathered here today to express our deep concerns

over this regrettable act of killing of hundreds of worshippers celebrating the Maulid of the Holy Prophet of Islam, Sayyidunā Muhammad (Peace be upon him).

” We also  solicit for the government to take full responsibility of the medical bills of those injured until recovery and to compensate them.

Furthermare, we enjoin each and every one within and outside Kaduna State to exercise patience, calm down and be law abiding.

“To forestall the reoccurrence of such, we advice all security agencies  to carefully verify suspected movements and gathering of criminals before taking action.

“The fatal bombardment by the Nigerian Army is such unforgivable crime against humanity taking into cognizance the prevalence of such killings mostly in Northern Nigeria.

Worthy of note is the killing of over 200 people in Kala Balge LGA of Borno amongst others in Niger and Yobe states.

“The loss of human life is always tragic, and these killings  left behind hundreds of grieving families in the state of fear, despair and insecurity among  the people in addition to disrupting the peaceful coexistence of different ethnic and religious groups, ” the Spokesperson said. 

” We urge you the media  to convey the grieving message of all Borno Muslim Associations with the hope that the authorities concerned will understand the raging public, frustration, and mass outrage. We also call  on all those responsible to refrain from such act of unwarranted repeat in future, to avert violence and safeguard our civilians.

“We assure each and every Nigerian citizen, to double our prayers for peace and unity to ease all hardships for a better and prosperous nation,” the group said.
