The Borno Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Sani Kamilu Muhammad  at a press briefing with journalists held at he command’s headquarters on Friday while parading the suspects, said it was  pertinent to keep the public  abreast with happenings  the great successes  the command has recently recorded between middle of June and July 2022.

While reiterating  the fact that, Borno State Police Command is working hard to ensure that the state is rid of all crimes and is  not a safe heaven for criminals and unscrupulous elements, he noted that  the arrest of 67 suspects during the period under review by the command which  has put in

enormous efforts in order to reduce crime and criminality in its area of

operations is to ensure crime is reduced to the barest minimum with  remarkable results.

According to him, in  cases  1 and 2, the suspects were arrested  in possession of dangerous weapons, causing hurt and threatening the life and safety of innocent citizens in the society and  were arrested at different locations and at different times between the months of

June and July across all the nooks and crannies of the state.

the command as well as the information provided by some good citizens of  the state and intelligence gathered by their officers.

He added that similarly, 22 suspects  were caught in possession of drugs  suspected to be Indian hemp.

“Unfortunately, most of the suspects are youth who are

supposed to channel their efforts and ability towards  profitable ventures in the society,  but they

chose to be  drug dealers and drug takers,” he said.

ASP Sani also said that the command under the able and capable  leadership of the State Commissioner of Police, CP

Abdu Umar warns that no criminal in the state would go  unpunished while assuring that the suspects ;would all be investigated and charged to court
