*says Gov Zulum remains candidate to beat

The Chairman of All Progressives Congress, (APC ), Borno State, Hon Ali Bukar Dalori has refuted trending Social Media reports that fracas existing among APC stakeholders in Borno may truncate success of the ruling party in the forthcoming general elections.
He added that going by the unprecedented achievements recorded in the last three and half years of the Governor Umara Zulum’s administration, with emerging restoration of peace, reconstruction, rehabilitation and resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons, (IDPs) back to their liberated communities, the APC has a better chance than any political party to win all elective positions next year.
The chairman stated this on Wednesday in an interactive session with hournalists in Maiduguri over the allegations levelled against him and his style of leadership, which went viral on the platforms of many social media that he accused Governor Zulum of not doing enough to unite party stakeholders at the local, zonal and state levels of the party structures even as the 2023 general election in at the corner.
Dalori said, “ordinarily, I do not want to join issues with the opposition parties, especially the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who are hellbent on hiring some people to concoct fake news against the APC ruling party which is the only united party in the state.
“But for the purpose of clarity, I challenge those making the allegations to come up with facts publicly on how APC is divided, as being alleged by the faceless individuals on Social Media platforms.
” It is shameful to hear that a faceless individual posted on his Facebook page with my picture that I accused His Excellency, Governor Babagana Zulum of dividing our great party, the APC. This is fake news and should be disregarded.
“Of course, as the 2023 general elections draw nearer, it is not surprising that some desperate and failed members of the opposition parties, especially the sinking PDP would always concoct all sorts of baseless allegations against our great APC, but we will never be distracted by their antics.
“Going by the unprecedented achievements recorded in the last three and half years of the Zulum’s administration, with restoration of peace, reconstruction, rehabilitation and resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) back to their liberated communities, the APC has a better chance to win all elective positions in Borno and Nigeria as a whole by God grace”. Dalori said.
The State Chairman however, called on the members and supporters of the APC and by extension lovers of democracy under the Zulum-led administration to disassociate themselves from fabricated or fake news which are mostly portrayed on Social Media platforms by enemies of government, progress and development.
He urged the people to continue to give their unflinching support, loyalty and cooperation to the people oriented policies and programmes of Governor Zulum to rebuild the state and take Borno to greater heights by nursing its wounds and repositioning it better than what it was before the insurgency.
