Governor, Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa State has
promised more dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
Bindow, who gave the assurance while signing the N177.9 billion, 2018
budget, at the government house Banquet hall on Thursday, commended
the state lawmakers for fulfilling their promise of speedy passage of
the budget.
According to him, the state is among few states that have passed their budgets into law.
The governor attributed the good working relationship between the
executive and legislative arm of government for the speedy passage of
the 2018 budget.
Bindow maintained that his administration will work with the assembly
to transform the state.
Earlier, the speaker of the state Assembly, Kabiru Mijinyawa, urged
the executive to ensure full implementation of the budget for the
speedy transformation of the state.
It would be recalled that Governor Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla Bindow of
Adamawa state, had on the 29th November,2017, presented the budget
estimate for the 2018 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly .
The 2018 Budget entitled “Budget of Hope and Empowerment” is made up
of N786,619,131 for re-current expenditure while the sum of N8,417,900
for capital expenditure.
Receiving the budget proposal, the Speaker of the House of
Assembly,.Kabiru Mijinyawa stated that the timely presentation of the
budget estimate would hasten its early passage.
He promised that the 2018 budget would be passed before the year runs out.
