An ex international boxer, Mazi Comrade Ikechukwu Okoronkwo has called on Nigerians to shine their eyes and beware of political trouble makers that are covering up in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mazi Okoronkwo made the call in reaction to South-West PDP members’ assertion that next president come 2023, should come from the South.
It would be recalled that the South-West zone of the Peoples Democratic Party on Tuesday, insisted that Nigeria’s next President should emerge from the Southern part of the country.
The party, at an extended zonal caucus meeting held at the Oyo State Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, said that it was in support of the position of the Southern Governors’ Forum that the southern part of the country should produce the successor to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking from his residence in Enugu on Wednesday, Mazi Okoronkwo said “There are some individual that are serial defectors of Political Parties since this recent democracy started. The activities of those individuals have be seen as divisive in nature”
“Imagine rotation of power and zoning of political offices that was set both by the Military, Security chief and civilian political Stakeholders projected for the interest of unity and peace is being Counter by some serial defectors for their own Selfishness”. He continued
Speaking further, the ex international boxer said, “It is clear that creation of six geopolitical zones and rotation of power has helped for growth of NIgeria’s democracy. It could be that the major insecurity in the North was triggered by ideology of other Northern zones’ feeling of neglect.
“As circumstances brought (North-West Zone) particularly Katsina State to have produced the president two times, i believe APC is adjusting from past mistakes while some serial defectors in PDP wish to cause confusion by ignoring rotation of power and zoning because it is now the turn of Southern zone, particularly the South East Nigeria to produce the next president”.
“I feel I should enlighten Nigerians diplomatically about wrongs of Saraki, Tambuwal, Atiku which is the reason they are serial defectors as they have problem with every sitting President starting from Obasanjo, Umaru Musa Yar’adua, Goodluck and Buhari”. Mazi Okoronkwo concluded.
