Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar of Bauchi State Wednesday approved the voluntary retirement of the Head of Civil Service, Mr. Abdon Dalla Gin after serving for 35 years. Gin has since proceeded on his terminal leave preparatory for his retirement.
Performing the formal handing over at the conference hall of the office of the Head of Service, the outgoing Head of service, Mr. Gin thanked various governments, both military and civilian for the opportunity given to him to serve in various capacities in the state civil service.
He emphatically commended Governor Muhammad Abubakar for given him opportunity to also serve his administration for one year; and expressed appreciation to the entire civil servants in the state for their support and encouragement throughout his career service.
“I want to seek for your forgiveness to those who I might have offended in the course of my schedules, I also want to remind civil servants that their constituency is the civil service and any government you are serving is your party. So you should be loyal and committed to serve it in order to ensure the effective implementation of government policies and programmes” he said
Responding, the newly appointed Acting Head of Service, Alhaji Liman Bello thanked the State Governor, Mohammed Abubakar for finding him worthy to serve in that capacity and promised to discharge his responsibility with all seriously.
Bello commended the outgoing Head of Service for rendering selfless service to the state, particularly to have served as the Head of Service for five years.
He also called on the entire civil servants in the state to support him with prayers as well as effective service delivery in moving Bauchi state forward.
Governor Mohammed Abubakar approved the appointment of Alhaji Liman Bello as Acting Head of Service of the state following the retirement of the former, Mr. Abdon Dalla Gin after putting in his letter to proceed for terminal leave preparatory to retirement.
“I am a fulfilled civil servant who served the state for five years which I served the state to the best of my ability to the apex of my carrier and as HOS for five years. I am leaving a relatively peaceful civil service, though with a number of challenges but there is industrial peace.
