The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Ben Ayade is expected as a Special Guest of Honour at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, Press Week 2022 due to commence on Sunday, December 4, 2022 with a Church Service at Destiny International Mission, Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo.
The annual event which the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel is also hoped to be the Special Guest of Honour has as its theme, “Imperatives of the Media on Industrialisation, Socio-Economic Development, and Good Governance”
Monday, December 5, is billed for Public Lectures at the NUJ Press Centre, Information Drive, off IBB Way, Uyo, with the Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem as a Keynote Speaker while Senator Florence Ita-Giwa would serve as Guest Lecturer, including Former Director General, Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, Prof. Tonnie Iredia.
The Union has also planned to visit Aged Persons across the three Senatorial Districts of the State to show love and shower them with gifts.
Briefing their Colleagues (Journalists) at the Press Centre, the Chairman and Secretary of the 2022 Press Week Planning Committee, Comrade Akan Esiwang, and Comrade Mabel Ekanem disclosed that the grand finale of the event is slated for Friday, December 9, with a “Dinner and Awards Night” under the distinguished Chairmanship of Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Dakuku Peterside, Former Director General, Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, (NIMASA).
The duo have invited Politicians, Business Gurus, Captains of industries, Religious/Traditional Leaders, Public/Civil Servants, Associations, and the entire Public to the event.
