*Senator Balogun defects

The only Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator from Oyo State, Senator Kola Balogun on Tuesday, formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during his official defection held at the state APC secretariat, Oke Ado, Ibadan, Oyo State APC Chairman, Hon Isaac Omodewu, declared that APC is waxing stronger and better in the state.
Hon Omodewu pointed out that APC is united and returning to the Agodi Government House in 2023 in Oyo state.
“Yes, we have misunderstandings within ourselves in the APC but we have resolved the issues. There is no more crisis.We are united and by the grace of God, we are returning to the Agodi Government House in 2023,” he said
Senator Kola Balogun while speaking said his defection was an home coming and thanked members of the party’s SWC and NWC for giving him the opportunity to come back “home.”
The Senator representing Oyo South alleged the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde of serving personal interest and not the interest of the masses.
“I didn’t defect, I’m coming back home. They are serving their personal interest and not the interest of the masses”, he said.
Senator Balogun added, ” there is security breaches across the state. Who uses diesel to power street lights in the 21st century if not that they are serving their own personal interest,”.
The ceremony was attended by APC stalwarts from across the state included Senator Teslim Folarin, Senator Abdul-Fatai Buhari, Honourable Segun Odebunmi, Honourable Hon Mojeed Olaoya, Hon Asimiyu Alarape, Hon Yemi Aderibigbe, a former Minister of Communications, Alhaji Bayo Shittu, Senator Brimo Yusuff and Hons Demola Omotoso and Lamiju Alao-Akala.
