Media practitioners in Nigeria have been charged to ensure their reportage are well researched, investigated and data based.

The  National President, Association Of Nigeria Licensed Clearing Agents (ANLCA), Hon Tony Iju Nwabunike made the call during the 2022 Annual Conference and award organized by the Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria.

The theme of the programme is, ‘Maximising Nigeria’s Blue Economy Through Automation”.

Nwabunike,  who was represented by the Acting President/ Vice President of ANLCA, Dr. Collins Kayode Farinto, felicitated with the President and members of AMJON on the occaission of this year’s conference and awards for obvious reasons.

Nwabunike who is also the Patron of AMJON, said the theme for this year’s event,  which touches on blue economy and automation, aligns very much with present reality, facing Nigeria and the global maritime sector.

“Whereas I am not in Nigeria presently to physically participate in the event with you, I have always followed your activities through stories and updates on your news websites and social media accounts.

“While commending you for keeping the beat abreast with information, I also find it imperative to urge you on the need for more research based, investigative and data driven reports.
