A traditional leader and business mogul, Oba Olatunde Ogini has demanded justice over the demolition of 10 units of shops constructed at University College Hospital (UCH) Guest House, Ibadan, by yet to be ascertained authority.
Oba Ogini in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, specifically asked the Nigerian Army authority to take a decision on a complaint against Major
Bamire, the Commander of Oyo State Operation Burst, who allegedly led his men to destroy the said property.
The traditional leader in the statement said the caterpillar used for the demolition of the 10 units of shops constructed at University College Hospital (UCH) Guest House was allegedly accompanied by armed military men.
In the statement, he stressed that there is need for the Nigerian Army to take action and carry out justice after formally receiving a complaint against the Commander of Oyo State Operation Burst who allegedly led his men to destroy the property.
“This is a case of gross misuse of power by some people in position of authority, and a gross violation of our fundamental human rights, by coming to destroy a multi million Naira worth property without any
court order or valid court judgment by either the management of the
UCH that had concessioned the guest house to us or the military that accompanied the caterpillar for destruction”, he said.
Oba Ogini added, “ we have written to many important offices which include the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ibadan, Office of the Chief of Army Staff, Nigerian Army Headquarters Abuja, Office of the Chief Medical Director, University College Hospital, (UCH), Ibadan,
Office of the Chairman Senate Security Committee, Abuja and many other relevant authorities and yet we are yet to get justice”.
