Alaafin: We Shared Paternal, Philosophical, Ideological Chemistry – SDP Presidential Aspirant

A leading aspirant for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 Presidential polls, Prince Adewole Adebayo has described the demise of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Atanda Adeyemi as saddening.
In a tweet on Saturday April 23, 2022, Prince Adewole said that he shared close ties with the late reverend monarch.
“ALAAFIN ASCENDS! With a deep sense of personal loss and national tragedy, I mourn the demise of Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Atanda Adeyemi III,Alaafin of Oyo after 51 years of meritorious graceful reign 29 of which Baba and I shared deep paternal, philosophical and ideological chemistry,” he said.

From the thread of the trending tweet, in a reply to one of the comments,  he wrote, “Alaafin Adeyemi III was a nationalist, Zikist, Pan Africanist encyclopedia of anthropology, politics, history, religion, macroeconomics; avid polemicist, tireless boxer and voracious reader. I pray for Bashorun, Oyo Mesi, Oloris, Aremo, Omobas, Obas, Governor and people of Oyo.”
It would be recalled that the Alaafin of Oyo, who was one of the prominent traditional rulers in Nigeria, died on Friday night.
Since his demise, several tributes have been pouring in from all over the world.
