The Young Progressives Party (YPP) in collaboration with the Akwa Ubok Abasi Campaign Organisation will over the weekend, flag off campaigns for its governorship candidate, Senator Bassey Akpan popularly called ‘OBA, and 26 House of Assembly candidates.
The Director of Communications in the organisation, Chief Usoro Usoro in a statement issued on Wednesday in Uyo, indicated that the event which would witness the official presentation of the party’s flag to Senator Bassey Akpan by the state chairman of YPP, Apostle Nyenime Andy on Saturday at the Senator Bassey Akpan Event and Recreation Centre, will attract supporters, party members and well-wishers across the state.
Usoro added that the campaign council, led by Mr Emem Akpabio has taken adequate measures to ensure a smooth and hitch free exercise and was optimistic about the bright chances of the party clinching the governorship seat in 2023.
He maintained that YPP is the only party with a well articulated manifesto that would guarantee security, employment and economic prosperity of Akwa Ibom people.
He lauded Akwa Ibom people for embracing and accepting the party as a better alternative that would drive the aspirations and expectations of the masses.
Usoro assured that Senator Akpan’s development blueprint which is anchored on the 3Rs, namely rescue , reposition and rededicate Akwa Ibom would guarantee equitable distribution wealth and resources in the state.
