Akwa Ibom: Ini LG Boss Empowers Constituents

The chairman of Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Isreal Idaisin has lifted 15 families in the area out of poverty through the donation of 15 mini buses to help boost the income of the families.
Idaisin also in the spirit of the new season, donated bags of rice and cash to the elders, women, youth and the council staff.
While making the donations at the council’s secretariat, Odoro Ikpe on Wednesday, Mr. Idaisin said that the gesture was in fulfilment of his electioneering promises he made to the people.
The event was the 30th anniversary of the creation of  Ini local council and empowerment programme by the chairman

He noted that the creation of Ini local government area has brought development closer to the people, adding that the Get-together Party was aimed at celebrating the genological existence of the area.
“We are here to celebrate ourselves as a united force, and to reward and honor our distinguished citizens, who have achieved outstanding success in various walks of life and disciplines as well as to empower our supporters for their various contributions.” He said.
Commenting on the event, the state deputy governor, Mr Moses Ekpo described  Mr Idaisin’s gesture as steps taken to improve the welfare of his people.
The Deputy Governor, who was represented by his Press Secretary, Mr Ekikere Umoh urged other Council Chairmen in the State to emulate the leadership style of Mr Idaisin.
High point of the event was Prayers and Ministration, cutting of the Anniversary Cake, Award Presentation and Food Exhibition. 
One of the Awardees was Prof. Nyaudo Ndaeyo, the Vice Chancellor of University of Uyo who thanked Idaisin for maintaining peace and setting a new path in Ini local government area to honour citizens.
Ini local government area was one of the ten local government areas created by the late Head of State, General Sani Abacha in 1991 from the former Ikono Local Government Area of the state.
