A’Ibom Moves To Improve Education Sector – Commissioner

The ongoing remodeling of Christ The King Primary School, Uyo and efforts at setting-up a Uniform and Shoe-hub for the benefit of school children in the state are impactful indicators that Akwa Ibom State Government places education on the front burner of the ARISE Agenda.
The Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong made this position known, Sunday during the 75th Diamond Jubilee celebration of Union Secondary School, Ibiaku Old Girls Association, USSIOGA held at the school premises in Ibiono  Ibom Local Government Area.
Comrade Ini Ememobong who was a special guest of honour at the occasion, stressed that education is a critical pillar of the ARISE Agenda as demonstrated by Governor Umo Eno in his numerous strides targeted at the advancement of education from the basic to the secondary school levels, adding that, the sector welcomes support and Investment by public spirited individuals.
The Information Commissioner in a goodwill message to the institution through the Director of Public Relations, Mrs. Grace Akpan, commended Union Secondary School Ibiaku Old Girls Association (USSIOGA), for being a dependable partner in the development of the education sector, through their support by constructing classroom blocks, dining hall and chapel, among others for their alma mater.
Emphasizing that the state government welcomes and encourages such partnership in the education sector, Comrade Ememobong pledged the continuous support of government towards the development of schools and called on all well meaning individuals to join in the development of the sector as the state belongs to all citizens and residents.
He congratulated Union Secondary School for the education pursuit and character moulding these past 75 years, which has churned out great leaders in different spheres of life and career lines and implored students of the School to keep the flag flying by excelling in their academic performances and inter-school competitions.
In their separate reactions, the President of the Union Secondary School Ibiaku Old Girls Association,  Princess Obo Edet and the Secretary of the Planning Committee, Pasty Sylvester, they expressed appreciation to Comrade Ini Ememobong for his contributions towards the development of the school and called for more Government presence to boost the fortunes of their almamater.
It would be recalled that, Union Secondary School Ibiaku is one of the foremost girls secondary schools in the state, located in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, the home of the Commissioner for Information,  Comrade Ini Ememobong.
As part of his contribution towards the growth and development of the school, Comrade Ini Ememobong had among other gestures, provided school uniforms to over 400 students of the institution, soon after appointment as the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, during his first tenure of office.
