Again, Plateau Lawmaker Disburses  Empowerment Grants To Women

Women worshipping at the Bishara Baptist Church Unguwan Rukuba as well as Unguwan Rukuba Women were full of appreciation to the Member representing Jos North North Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Bassa /Jos North House of Representatives seat, Ibrahim Baba Hassan  for assisting them with ten thousand Naira each as starter packs to commence small and medium scale businesses.

The women who where full of praises for the benevolence of the lawmaker following his empowerment scheme, said the gesture will remain indelible in their hearts.

The event which took place at the Bishara Baptist Church Angwan Rukuba in Naraguta B Ward in Jos North Local Government Area saw over one hundred and sixty receive ten thousand Naira and two others,   empowered on Wednesday  November 2,  2022. 

It would  be recalled that Bishara Baptist Church Unguwan Rukuba  on Sunday October 30, 2022, marked its 60th  anniversary of existence.

Member representing Jos North North Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Baba Hassan who was a guest at the occasion, pledged to extend his empowerment scheme to the nooks and crannies of the locality.

He said that his decision to empower women is borne out of his desire to alleviate their plight and by making them better members of the society.

The lawmaker restated his determination to fulfil his injunction of service to humanity and God. 

Some of the women who spoke at the event, Mary John, Zainab Muhammed and  Ladi Amoda,  said that  they have never enjoyed such a gesture and assured the lawmaker of their support and cooperation to enable him succeed in the forthcoming election.

Pastor of the Church, Reverend, Sokla Daniel Selchum appreciated the lawmaker for assisting the less privileged in his church, Unguwan Rukuba community and those from other communities,  assuring the lawmaker of the church’s support and prayers in all his endeavours, while appealing to others to emulate his noble gesture.

Deputy Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council, Ezekiel Agada commended the commitment of the lawmaker in empowering his constituents, noting that it is a right step in the right direction. 

High point of the occasion was the disbursement of starter packs to some Muslim women who where in the church as well as officials of PLASMIDA, led by Basil Dakop.
