African Highest Military Repelling Tower Will Enhance Tactical, Combat Training Of Army Personnel – Brig Gen Bello

The Nigerian Army School of Physical Training Zaria has the highest Military Repelling Tower in  Africa and the 5th in the world, with Lateral Drift Trainer, which will enhance tactical and combat training of Army personnel.

The Commandant of the School, Brig Gen. Abdurraheem R. Bello  disclosed this in an interview with journalists at the just concluded NAPHER.SD National Conference held at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria.

He said, the repelling tower is the highest in Africa and Asia, and the 5th tallest in the world, while the  length of the lateral drift is 60ft and the hight from the rappelling tower base is 30ft.

Brig. Gen Bello said that the project will further enhance combatant and tactical training of soldiers in battle field and promote results oriented skills to the Nigerian Army personnel.

According to him, the soldiers in the school were receiving training on some skills like self defence when terrorists attack them at the field.

The Commandant said, the curriculum and activities of the school have been reviewed to suit in the new techniques and challenges.

 He said currently the number of students enrollment will be increase because the available facilities will accommodate the numbers.

Brig. General Abdurraheem Bello who expressed appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Faruk Yahaya for providing them with an enabling environment to succeed.

On the introduction of  new activities in the school, the Commandant said there is a study tour by the students and organizes series of Lectures by the invited erudite scholars .

“A lot of transformations is going on in the school inorder to give the maximum Training to the soldiers for effective service delivery when they return back to their various formations mentally and physically fit they will train others”.

“Nigerian Army School of Physical Training Zaria is unique in moulding, transforming the thinking and self confidence of the Soldiers during their training in the school”
