Africa Beach Volleyball: Nigeria’s Female Team Win Gold, Male Pick Silver

Nigeria’s Female representatives at the just concluded International Beach Volleyball tournament in Yaoundé, Cameroon have emerged Champions of the tournament.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the
Chairman publicity & Media, Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Kehinde Lamidi, made available on Sunday.
This follows the Team Nigeria’s 2:0 Victory over host country, Cameroon Team 1 at 21/15,23/21 in the finals described by experts as explosive and tactical.
Team Nigeria (Male) however lost in the male finals to the host country, Cameroon by 1:2 at 21 17, 19/21 and 16/18 to emerge runner up of the tournament.
The team Nigeria Coach, Imoudu Francis who was excited about the results declared that Nigeria is now a force to reckon with in the game of beach volleyball in the continent.
He lauded the players for displaying the stuff they are made of proofing their superiority and supremacy over their opponents also appreciated the NVBF Board led by Musa Nimrod for their supports in all ramifications to record the modest achievements in Cameroon.
The president of the Federation, Musa Nimrod who congratulated the contingent for making Nigeria proud, described the victory as an end of the year gift to the nation, NVBF board and other stakeholders who have contributed to the modest achievements recorded in the year 2017.
The players and official are expected to arrive Nigeria on Sunday 31st of December, 2017.
