The primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to produce candidate from the Adamawa Northern Senatorial zone has ended with a display of sportsmanship by an aspirant.
The aspirant, Malam Hamisu Idris Medugu gave a good and dogged fight against his major contender who is the incumbent Senator, Mr. Ishaku Abbo by scoring 100 votes.
The success of Abbo, Idris described as a victory for APC in Adamawa State and accepted the defeat in good fate and considered it God’s perfect will for him to lose at the expense of the incumbent.
With a grateful heart to God, Idris congratulated Senator Abbo and assured of giving him a good backup to win in the coming general elections of 2023.
In his words of contentment, Idris is of the view that God is the giver of power and He gives it at will, at any given time to anyone He wishes to.
“Where there are contestants, there are winners and losers. I tried my possible best, but God decided the outcome of this primary election for one of us. I accept the outcome in good fate.
” I am congratulating the winner, Senator Ishaku Abbo, and I’m assuring him of the unity of purpose as members of APC to work together and win in the coming general elections of 2023. And In sha Allah, I will support him to win,” Idris said.
He poured thanked all the delegates that stood by him and gave him the votes he described as precious as gold.
He also thanked APC stakeholders, his campaign team and all supporters for believing in his dream.
Medugu encouraged them to know that better days are ahead, and good opportunities lie ahead for God to present again for the sake of humanity.
He revealed that his failure to secure the ticket is a reason so important to him to remain in APC to work for the party for total victory in 2023.
“I’m calling on all my supporters to join hands with me again to work for our great party. We are not leaving the party for whatever reason, we remain in the party and will work in its interest,” he said.
