In his efforts to light up rural and urban communities across Kaduna State, former member House of Reps, Hon. Shehu Bawa popularly known as ABG has provided seven solar-powered streetlights in and around Kawo Animal Market.
While delivering the solar energy items to the beneficiaries which hitherto had been in total darkness and could not transact business after sunset, Hon. ABG explained that he had to respond to yearnings of traders using the place to earn a living.
He disclosed this as one amongst several other community development projects he had been carrying out all in effort to put smiles on faces of people.
The former Federal legislator stated that social and economic needs of people shouldn’t be neglected by any serious Government, adding that failure to prioritize social contracts to the masses would lead to voter apathy and create disharmony between leaders and the led.
Head of the Market (Sarkin Zango), Alhaji Umar Ibrahim while commending the politician for his prompt and kind gestures disclosed they had approached several individuals and corporate organizations for assistance but no one came to their rescue except ABG, whom he noted responded within two days after being notified.
Alhaji Ibrahim added that business in the animal market would be smooth, easy and worthwhile with the installation of the streetlights which he said would help in making the place more secure.
” I have been hearing so much about Hon. ABG from people whom he has touched positively in one way or the other with his scholarship and empowerment programmes, so We decided to try our luck and we are not disappointed.
” What you can see here today will go a long way in easing the process of doing business in the dark and providing security for this whole area and even beyond.
” Because, seven giant solar streetlights are more than enough compared to the few we asked and were expecting.
” May Allah bless him and crown his efforts with success because he has shown by this action he can be relied on in changing the fortunes of our people for the better, ” he assured.
