44th Kaduna Int’l Trade Fair: Buhari Re-assures Commitment Towards Agricultural Development

In an effort to ensure agricultural productivity towards  boosting  the country’s economy, President Muhammadu Buhari has re-assured of commitment of his government towards sustainable  development of the key sector.

Speaking during the 44th Kaduna International Trade Fair organized by the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA) with the theme, “Promoting Value Addition For Sustainable Growth And Development” along Kaduna-Zaria Road,  Buhari emphasized his determination to ensure the agricultural sector develops.

Represented by the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Muhammad Mahmud Abubakar, he disclosed that the Federal Government under  his leadership  will continue to improve agriculture with the aim of boosting the economy of the country.

He added that, Nigeria’s economy was successfully built by using the wealth of cotton and groundnut farming, which has given the opportunity to have a better economy and development the country and its people as a whole, so for that, they’ll continue to boost agricultural sector for it to enable the citizens to have food security and something doing.

He said, “the Federal Government will continue to give importance to the agricultural sector with the aim of developing the economy and supply the citizens with food, because there is no  government in Nigeria that has ever focused on supporting agriculture like the one led by Muhammadu Buhari.

“Nigeria’s government will put more efforts towards continuing to assist businesses and industries so that the country can depend on itself to produce goods and export them abroad,” he said.

Also speaking, the Governor Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufa’i  noted that the chamber has remained committed and focused towards its resolution of creating confidence and enabling environment for  international and local investors to meet, engage and  provide value in the economy.

He added that for 43 consecutive years, the fair has successfully presented unique opportunities for the nation’s capitalist and industries to showcase their products and services, meet new partners, new customers and to utilize the opportunities, saying this is a step in supporting  economic growth and the economy.

The governor, represented by Dr. Yusuf Sale from the Ministry of Business Development and Innovation of Kaduna State, said that, “It has shown that KADCCIMA is making  deliberate efforts to ensure that the nation’s posterity is created through  labour growth. So there’s the need for West africa under Africa, to sanitize for progress under  KADCCIMA. 

“It may interest you to note that our administration is committed to the growth of small scale enterprises as the state has constructed a business support centre and handed it over to SMEDAN in an effort to support the growth of small business enterprises. Kaduna State has been life time partner of the chamber and will continue to provide the necessary support towards the success of the chamber’s activities. 

“I wish to call on KADCCIMA to continue with what they’re doing and their activities and with other investors to leaverage on the voluntary services of the chambers. And I wish to also call on the chambers to extend the use of their facilities beyond the annual event.” 

In his remarks, the royal father of the day, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, who was represented by Mahmud Abbas Minor, said that there is always a plan to help those who want to establish all companies in the Zazzau Emirate and for that, they are always ready to pave ways by giving their full support.

Earlier In his welcome address, the second Vice President of the KADCCIMA, Mr. Ishaya Idi, said that as a result of the problem of not improving production in Nigeria, the country is losing a lot of things, especially billions  of Naira which is suitable for earning in terms of income and trade.
