2023: Nigerian Army  Issues Code Of Conduct To Personnel

As the 2023 general elections draws closer, the Nigerian Army has issued code of conduct to its personnel, directing all  to study and conduct themselves within the remits of operational tasks that would be assigned during the election period.

New Commandant of the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peace Keeping Centre Jaji Kaduna, Major General E.A.P.  Undiandeye made this known while delivering his take over note to troops of the centre at the Maimalari Hall in Jaji on Friday.

According to Major General Undiandeye,  “for the general elections, the headquarters has send out codes of conduct for the general election, go and study it very well, I don’t want to hear personnel of this centre involved in any unprofessional conduct. Do not go out of line and if you are assigned a duty, please stick to it. We are a strictly  training institution and must conduct ourselves within the remits of every assigned tasks and withdraw when ordered to”.

Earlier, Undiandeye maintained that, “it is  a great honour and privilege to take over the race of this centre from my senior colleague and friend,   Maj. General Auwal Fagge. I want to thank you for the support you have given the outgoing commandant.

“The outgoing commandant is a great gentleman. I just want to say our job is to train peace keepers, leaders and special needs courses for national and international partners. It is my belief that we are a formidable team, please I wish same cooperation  given to my boss, the outgoing commandant will be extended to me so that we can achieve some more. Let me use the opportunity to thank and congratulate General Fagge for the successful and eventful tenure”.

The new commandant who vowed to sustain the center’s relationship with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ)  Kaduna Council, also revealed that, “all the welfare programmes in the centre will be upheld. I will continue to train my personnel as training is the best welfare package. I will request headquarters to enhance the centre and I will be a leader with a listening ear. Find a way to succeed and not to give excuses.”

Earlier, outgoing commandant, Major General Auwal Fagge congratulated the new commandant, stressing that “we have known each other for over 35 years, we have met severally at the academy and at several intervals. I have been here for more than one year as commandant and I sincerely thank the Chief of Staff for giving me the opportunity to serve.  The staff and the facilitators have been the engine room, they did all the work, I was just the captain of the ship. I enjoyed the mixture of  the civilian” 

“Please give him all the cooperation and understanding. All of us are the same,  improve the effort to serve this centre of excellence and the nation at large. I wish you all the best and I know  you will excell, success is yours, interact with your staff and you need to be diplomatic. Solutions can come from anywhere, they could come from the junior or the senior or your mates.”
