2023 : My Emergence As Nigeria’s President Will End  Poverty, Insecurity, Others  – Tinubu

All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on Sunday, declared that his emergence as Nigeria President come 2023 will bring a total end to poverty, insecurity and other forms of woes the country is currently grappling with.

Addressing the League of Imams and Alfas of Yorubaland in Ibadan at a forum  organised by Muslims in the South West, Asiwaju Tinubu said his government will tackle the insecurity and other challenges facing Nigeria if elected as next  President 

According to him,  the 2023 general elections will be “Nigeria’s momentous encounter with destiny” and as such, there is the need for  Islamic clerics to educate their followers on the importance of exercising their franchise and voting only tested candidates with a track record of excellent public service but not falling for the lies and gimmicks of those, who have nothing to offer.

“This election season has been a hybrid of facts and falsehood, truth and lies. I would like the election to be one based on facts and truth.

What is a candidate’s record of performance and what are his policies. I ask you to urge your followers to come out and vote and to do so wisely.”, he said.

Asiwaju Tinubu added. ” vote for a candidate that has vision for a peaceful, prosperous Nigeria where tolerance and compassion undergird our constitutional and legal rights”.

” Leader in a plural society like ours is enjoined to be a leader of all. If elected, I shall govern in an honest and democratic manner in harmony with our nation’s constitution.”

Asiwaju Tinubu while assuring Nigerians that he would be “a fair and just leader, my pledge for fairness and justice is consistent with the tenets of Islamic faith, said he would use his Lagos state experience experience to lead Nigeria in the “same spirit of innovation and pragmatic vision to uplift the nation and renew the hope of Nigerians. 

On security stressed that he would end the reign of terror, kidnappings and other violent crimes by recruiting more personnel that would be trained and retrained, in addition to providing more security tools and gadgets for effective fight against criminal elements and that

on economy his government would diversified and restructured the economy towards achieving at least 6 percent growth annually.

Stressing that these goals would be achieved through the reforms of our industrial policy, infrastructural enhancement, power sector innovation and significant budgetary reforms, the APC Presidential candidate said. 

regarding the economy, we seek to repair the very structure of the economy. 

” We can no longer flourish as an economy based on natural resource extraction.We must become a dynamic, diversified economy where those who want to work can find a good job. But let us also be a society sufficiently compassionate to help those who cannot help themselves.We must revive manufacturing and industrial growth so as to create jobs as well as produce the goods and services that improve the daily lives of the average person.We seek a minimum of 6 percent growth annually through reform of our industrial policy, infrastructural enhancement, power sector innovation and  significant budgetary reform,” Tinubu told the Muslim leaders.

Th League of Imams and Alfas of Yorubaland while speaking through the President-General, League of Imams and Alfas of Yorubaland, Sheikh Jamiu Kewulere Bello urged  Asiwaju Tinubu to tackle insecurity and unemployment in Nigeria if elected.

Sheik Bello stressed,  presently insecurity and unemployment are of utmost importance to the Imams and Alfas in the South West region and that the body was not happy with the rising rate of insecurity and unemployment in the country, saying, if elected in 2023, Asiwaju Tinubu should without wasting more time, tackle insecurity and unemployment  

“There have been kidnapping cases in the country. Please help us to tackle it. Secondly, our children have gone to school, they have graduated, and most of them have no jobs. We want you to help us to provide jobs for them when you get there. We also want you to help us to tackle the problem of ethnic rivalries in the country. This is our third request.”

President of Muslim Ummah of South West (MUSWEN), Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo while welcoming Asiwaju Tinubu  the meeting was organized for the APC Presidential candidate to directly engage Muslim leaders in the South West, to unveil his plans, adding,” this meeting was organised for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to directly engage Muslim leaders in the South West, to unveil his plans.

A good government will lead to economic development. With your pedigree, we believed that you can take Nigeria to a greater height when elected.”
