Labour Party(LP), candidate for Kauru/Chawai Constituency in 2023 Kaduna State House of Assembly election, Hon.Adamu Bala Chawai has said  that welfare of his people will be given  priority if elected.

Chawai decried what he described as the state government’s elitist approach to governance, which he noted, has strangled low-income earners, many of whom he said, can no longer live in the city.

He said that the Labour Party would operate a pro-masses policy to ensure delivery of dividends of democracy to the people, whom he said, should be first beneficiaries of representative democracy.

The State Assembly hopeful disclosed  this in an interactive session with newsmen shortly after the inauguration of campaign council of his party in Kaduna.

He blasted the present crop of Kaduna State legislators for being too weak to checkmate the excesses of the current administration, saying they had given too much leverage to the executive arm of government to hit hard on the electorate with difficult policies.

“My party will reverse all anti masses policies of administration and restore hope, sanctity of people’s wish and equitable distribution and allocation of resources.

“Our people, especially those at the grassroots will breathe fresh air and be happy once again because their welfare concerns and interest will come first before anything.

“When the masses don’t feel a true sense of belonging in the affairs of governance, there is bound to be disaffection towards the people in authority.

“The whole essence of leadership is defeated when the interest of citizens don’t matter and are trampled upon by those in position of leadership who are there to serve their people.

“We will work in unison with other arms of government to initiate and ensure passage of bills that will impact positively on the fortune of our people.

“Job creation, education, health, trade and investment will receive boost under our admin as these concerns form core values of our party.

“I urge the electorate to massively turn out in their numbers to ensure they cast their votes for all our candidates as it is the surest way to enthrone rule of law enshrined in democratic ethos,” he appealed.
