The Chairman Oyo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Professor Sayed Malik has hinted that the

intending pilgrims from the state for the 2023 holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia are to pay N2,6 million as initial deposit.

Professor Malik dropped the hint in Ibadan at the weekend, while speaking at the Oyo State Hajj Camp, Olodo on the arrangements for this year’s holy pilgrimage.

According to Professor Malik, the N2.6 million, “is fixed pending the announcement of the actual fare by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON)”.

The Chairman Oyo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board however, noted that  the150 intending pilgrims who could not perform last year’s exercise due to the limited seats allocated to the state, would be given priority.

Professor Malik then tasked all intending pilgrims with the State Pilgrim Welfare  Board for this year’s exercise to start paying the stated amount into any of the designated bank accounts of the board.

The Chairman while briefing members of the board about the critical issues and other important matters relating to the 2023 Hajj Operation discussed during the first Pre-Hajj visit to Saudi Arabia said NAHCON has allocated 1,441 seats to Oyo State for this year’s Hajj exercise.
