By; PATRICK TITUS, UyoA coalition of socio-political groups in Nigeria under the aegis of ‘The New Tribe’ has said that Nigeria will have problems if Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is not elected as the next President to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 general elections.
The prediction was handed down during a one-day declaration  conference by the group held at Emerald Event Centre Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital on Saturday, March 5, 2022

They warned that what happened during the EndSars protest in the country would be infinitesimal compared to what will happen if Osinbajo is denied ticket to fly the flag of the All Progressives Congress, APC in 2023.
Fielding questions from newsmen, the group responding to earlier remarks on the threat, said “Yes if the Vice President Osinbajo is not elected as the president of Nigeria we will have a problem.

“What we had two years ago in this country during the EndSars will be a joke, if Osinbajo is not elected the president of Nigeria, what we are going to have is a ‘youthquake.’
‘For example, I have a son, he has never registered, he has never voted in any election before but he said to me, look, dad,  if Osinbajo is not given ticket, I will not vote, he said the young people in this country are feeling left behind, no body cares about them, one of the organisers of the event said.
The group which described Osinbajo as the most richest politician added, “because he easily connects with all categories of people, we cannot continue with the broken policies of the past, Osinbajo is not an old man he does not need an intermediary he will lias with youths directly.”
In a communique signed by Chairman and Secretary of the Communique Drafting Committee,  Chief Williams Omoviro and Chief Omeh Matthias respectively, and read by Chief Ita Otu Toyo, Akwa Ibom APC Chieftain,  the conference resolved to mobilize funds to purchase the APC expression of interest and nomination forms for Prof Osinbajo whom they said have the capacity to rule the country.
The group therefore called on  President Mohammadu Buhari to stand solidly behind his vice, Prof Osinbajo whom they described as “tested, loyal and true apostle of Mr President”  and ensure that a man of conscience like him who truly abhors corruption succeeds him to continue where he stops.
The group also resolved to carry out a thorough appraisal of current  political trends in APC and INEC timetable and engage more prominent Nigerians, the Academia,  Civil Society groups and national delegates of the party, Professional bodies, Religious Leaders,  Youths and Women Organisations on the need to elect this competent and reliable Nigerian with proven track record, integrity, transparency and honesty in the person of Prof Yemi Osinbajo as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in order to realize the vision of The NEW TRIBE and a New Nigeria.
