2022: Zamfara NSCDC Settles 223 Cases, Pledges To Purge All Forms Of Criminality

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Zamfara State Command  has said that, a total of two hundred and twenty three (223) cases were entertained by the command’s units in the year 2022.

This was made known by the State Commandant, Muhammad Bello Muazu, while presenting the annual reports of the year 2022 at the State Command Headquarters  in Gusau on Friday. 

Muazu further revealed that, in the year 2022, the corps was able to recover the total sum of one hundred and nineteen million, seven hundred and twenty four thousand, eight hundred and eighteen naira via its anti graft units, which were monies that were fraudulently obtained by fraudsters and debtors.

“These monies were given to the rightful owners in due time”. He said.

Commandant MB Muazu further opined that, the corps is empowered by the Act of 2007 as amended, to meditate in cases of land disputes, marital crises and other civil matters, among willing parties. 

“It is to this end that the corps in Zamfara State was able to mediate convincingly on about 53 cases involving land disputes and settled perfectly about 267 cases involving marital crisis in the year 2022”. He added.

The state NSCDC boss reiterated that the corps under his watch in Zamfara State, is poised to galvanizing the vision and mission of the Commandant General, Dr Abubakar Ahmed Audi as encapsulated in the five Rs.

“These five Rs include, to revamp, rejig, reposition, rejuvenate and to restructure the corps in line with international best practices”. He mentioned. 

He also pledged that the corps under his leadership, will leave no stone unturned in order to achieve the desired goals and objectives.

According to him, the corps in Zamfara State is poised to closing ranks with other sister agencies to purge out insecurity, social vices and miscreants from the state in no distant time.

“I want to assure good people of Zamfara State that, the corps in the year under review has through the anti graft units of the organization,  (Anti Fraud and the Anti Corruption and transparency units) embarked on zero tolerance to corruption and fraudulent activities”. He said.

Speaking on the forthcoming general elections, Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu, opined that the corps in Zamfara State is apolitical and ready to close ranks with other sister agencies to ensure a peaceful and rancour free general elections in 2023. 

He advised those who are fanning the embers of political crisis to desist or relocate from the state as the law will deal decisively with anyone who contravenes the Electoral Act and extant laws of the federation.

He also charged the officers and men of the Corps in Zamfara State to redouble their efforts in the year 2023 in order to take the organization to an enviable height.

The Commandant however, thanked all stakeholders and other sister agencies, especially the Commissioner of Police, the Director State Security Services and all those whom the corps  synergized with to make the year a success.
