Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has received the Award of Best Performing Governor in the North East in the area of Covid-19 vaccination and interventions.
A statement signed by the SSA (Media and Publicity) Deputy Governor’s Office, Jack A. Tasha, said that the governor was presented with the award by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha during the 2022 Immunization Performance Awards, African Vaccination Week, held at Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton Hotel, Abuja.

Mr. Boss Mustapha who is also the Presidential Steering Committee on Covid-19, stressed that Corona virus is not in a hurry to leave Nigeria, urging people not relent in observing the non- pharmaceutical measures of face marks, hand washing, and to ensure vaccination against the virus and other killer diseases.
The Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire congratulated the winners and recipients of the awards and enjoined them to exert more effort and rid the country of diseases towards saving lives.
The Deputy Governor of Gombe State was accompanied by the Executive Secretary, State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Shuaibu Abdulrahaman, Project Manager SERICC, Musa Ibrahim Kuna, State Health Educator, Sallau Musa and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Christopher Istakis among others.
