2022 Budget: Ekiti Allocates N36bn For Governance

In a bid to ensure that the smooth running of Ekiti State Government affairs continues, the sum of N36,346,732,689.95 has been earmarked for governance in accordance to the allocation of the fund from the 5-Pillar Agenda of the administration in the 2022 budget.

Other key areas include Agriculture and Rural Development N2,208,994,050.91,Social Investment N14,083,965,875.87, Knowledge Economy N19,713,587,472.85 and Infrastructures and Industrial Development N28,400,713,143.02.

White the road projectsncludes the completion and rehabilitation of Ado-Iworoko-Ifaki dualization road, rehabilitation of Ado township road among others.

Presenting the approved 2022 budget analysis, presented by Mr. Olufemi Ajayi and joined by the commissioner for finance, Mr. Akin Oyebode, said ten critical selected projects  top the government priority this year.

Some of the critical projects include the completion of the cargo airport project which has gulped over N7 billion and government is expected to pay not exceeding  about N3.5 billion, in the total cost of about N11 billion project cost.

Others are thé landscaping and fencing of state Secretariat complex in Ado-Ekiti, urban re-generation project, renovation/equipping of secondary health facilities and completion of one Secretariat building. 

The budget of legacy and consolidation for the state is N100,753,993,241.60.

Ajayi, said the administration will continue in its effort in putting Ekiti State among the comity of states with high Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
