House of Representatives hopeful in Plateau State, Haruna Maitala has vowed to unseat the incumbent member representing Jos-North Bassa Federal Constituency in the 2019 election.
Speaking exclusively to New Nigerian in Jos, the politician who is contesting for the third time explained that he decided to run again because of the apparent inability of the incumbent National Assembly member to provide a qualitative representation to the electorate in the constituency.
He said the people of Jos-North Bassa Federal Constituency are seriously lamenting over “ the poor representation at the National Assembly“.
According to him, “ the 8 years of Sulaiman Kwande at the National Assembly is a disaster to the people of the constituency due to lack of purposeful representation ”
He challenged the incumbent member to provide the electorate with his records of achievement as a lawmaker.
According to him, the people of Jos-North Bass Federal Constituency deserve a better representation come 2019 and called on them to vote wisely to avoid the repeat of the past.
Commenting on the series of crisis that engulfed the constituency since 2008, the politician blamed the type of representation obtained in the constituency, alleging that they failed to provide amicable solutions to the violent conflicts that claimed several lives and property.
On the ongoing registration of voters nationwide, Maitala urged the electorate to seize the opportunity to update their voters cards.
He underscored the importance of the exercise and called on all to register.
