Nemesis caught up with two Armed Robbers in Ibadan early Friday as they were shot dead by men of the Oyo State Police Command during an operation.
New Nigerian gathered that the armed robbers numbering about eight invaded Ogbere/Orita-Aperin area on Ibadan around 2am on Friday around 2:40am and forcing residents in the area to open their doors or be shot dead if the doors were forced open during the robbery operation.
According to the Oyo State Commissioner, Mr Sam Adegbuyi while briefing newsmen at Agugu Police Station, where the dead bodies of the two killed armed robbers were displayed,
the robbers on arriving the Ogbere-Kayinsi and Orita-Merin area shot at a police sergeant and rob other victims of their valuables including mobile phones, money.
Speaking through the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adekunle Ajisebutu ,the two armed robbers met their death during a gun battle between them and the policemen that foiled their robbery operation.
”A distress call was made to the station which resulted in a gun battle with the robbers and two of the robbers were shot dead. These criminal gangs have been responsible for many spate of robbery attacks in many parts of Ibadan until nemesis catch up with them today,” he said.

The Police Commissioner added that “this feat achieved by the police is an indication that this state is not a safe haven for criminals again, therefore they should stay off”.
He however listed items recovered from the robbers to include two locally made pistol, three cutlasses, both live and expended cartridges, and other dangerous weapons.
