Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the ideal political platform anybody could use to turn around the economy of Nigeria.
The Deputy Governor made this remark while welcoming over the weekend, 10 influential political leaders from Peoples Democratic Party along with over 1,000 followers as decampees into the fold of the APC, a move which has further compounded PDP woes in the state.
The event took place during a mega rally organised by Owerri West chapter of the APC in Obinze Primary School, Obinze, Owerri West Local Government Area of the state.
The decampees pledged their unwavering support for the ruling party, adding that they will join hands with the party to ensure the party comes out victorious in 2019 for continuity of the good works its led administration is doing in the State.
They however hailed Governor Rochas Okorocha-led administration for the monumental feats it has recorded in the area of infrastructure for which Owerri West has benefited.
They pledged to take the good news to others who will join in no distant time.
Welcoming the new members to the party, Prince Madumere averred that APC emerged to correct the anomalies of other parties because of its well spelt out ideology, which bothered on economic empowerment of the country and its citizenry through the dignity of legitimate business and vocation.
Speaking further, he said the party is not going back on its anti corruption crusade with unrelenting effort in infrastructural development and huge investment in agriculture, research in science and technology.
He therefore commended the new entrants for taking the right steps, assuring them of rightful position in the party with full sense of ownership, according them all the necessary windows of opportunities.
He also thanks the people of Owerri West for their obstinate support of the party, describing them as reliable learners in progress.
He assured them of their fair share in every allotable resources, charging them to continue to build and position the party for the ultimate cause of winning elections and impacting on people’s lives positively.
In the same vein, former Secretary to Imo State Government, Sir Jude Ejiogu extolled the achievements of APC in the State, urging the new comers to put to use their qualities while contributing to move the party forward.
Also lending his voice, the Executive Director, Nigeria Insurance and Social Trust Fund, Hon. Jasper Azuatalam eulogised APC-led ruling administration of Owelle Rochas Okorocha for it giant strides in the state and in Owerri West in particular.
He said the local government has been greatly favoured by the Federal and state governments.
He boasted that Owerri West any day will deliver on expected massive votes to the party in 2019 in appreciation of the efforts of the APC-led governments.
However, the high point of the rally was the massive empowerment of the party faithful from all the wards in the local government, promising them of ceaseless quality representations and dividends of democracy.
