Troops in 70 Hilux vehicles and three armoured personnel carriers were allegedly used as back up for Governor Nasir el-Rufai to demolish structure used as New All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat in Kaduna on Tuesday.
The Secretariat, which was used by S.I. Wada led APC executives to suspend Governor el-Rufai just two days earlier was said to have been brought down at about 4am.
An eye witness, who identified himself as Suleiman Umar Ibrahim (Salafin Baba), said he personally saw the governor lead the team that demolished the structure located on Sambo Road, Kaduna GRA.
Salafin  Baba said that he was on the sidelines doing a live streaming of the demolition as it took place.
When our correspondent visited the site, it had become a huge attraction as spectators were sighted with both sides of the street in the area turned to parking lots by those who stared at the demolished structure.
Meanwhile, in spite of the demolition, the New APC workers were seen operating from the parking lot of the demolished building.
One of them who spoke to our reporter said that they were not shaken by the government’s action.
