Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State has approved the appointment of Barrister Simon Malgwi as Special Adviser (SA) on Legal and Administrative Matters to the governor.
Until his appointment on Thursday by the governor, Barrister Malgwi was the Head of Service (HOS) , Borno State, whose 35 years Meritorious service to the state government as a lawyer, having raised from a legal officer to Director and Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Justice, terminated on Friday October 21, 2022 and he is expected to hand over the affairs of his office on to the most senior Permanent Secretary, after 35 years of meritorious service.
Ahead of that, an official press statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Borno State, Alhaji Usman Jidda Shuwa, which was made available to newsmen in Maiduguri, said that the formal retirement of the HOS will be effective from Friday October 21, 2022.
Earlier in the statement, Governor Zulum expressed profound appreciation to Mr. Malgwi for his meritorious service to the state in various capacities, including those of the Head of the Borno State Civil Service and Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, while wishing him well in his future endeavors.
“He will be sworn-in in due course”. Jidda stated.
Malgwi hails from Hawul Local Government Area of Southern Borno Senatorial District.
