Zamfara PDP Lauds Appeal Court  Judgement

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Zamfara State Chapter has expressed satisfaction over the Friday Appeal Court Sokoto Division judgment, which affirmed Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare as the substantive gubernatorial candidate under the party in the upcoming election in the state.

The state’s acting chairman of the party, Muktar Lugga stated this while fielding questions from newsmen in Gusau on Saturday.

According to him, the court ruling in favour of the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare is a clear testimony that the judiciary is the last hope of every law abiding citizen of the country.

“We are really optimistic that the recent judgment by the Appeal Court Sokoto which affirmed our party’s gubernatorial candidate as substantive aspirant as a clear indication that the rule of law is the order of the day in this country and PDP in Zamfara is commending the court over its unbiase”.

It would be recalled that a federal high court sitting in Gusau, Zamfara State, presided over by Justice Aminu Bappa-Aliyu had nullified the primaries that produced Dauda Lawal as PDP governorship candidate also, ruling that the Peoples’ Democratic Party had no gubernatorial candidate in the state in this year’s general election.

Lugga expressed optimism that PDP in Zamfara will win election  the next election, calling on members and supporters of the party to remain law abiding citizens and eschew any forms of  unrest during electioneering campaign  and beyond for the success of the party. 

He further pointed out that all the arrangements have been mapped out by the party to launch it’s electioneering campaign slated to hold on January 15, 2023 in the state.

He promised to have a peaceful campaign without any rancour in the state and enjoined all members and supporters of PDP to obey all the rules and regulations governing the party to ensure peaceful electioneering campaign in the state.
