In its effort of transforming rural areas, Zamfara State Government is to spend over six billion Naira for the construction of roads in Maradun Local Government Area of the state.
Director General (DG) Media and Communication to the Governor, Alhaji Nuhu Salihu Anka in a Statement made available to the New Nigerian named the roads to be constructed in order to ease transportation in the area as :- Maradun – Magami- Faru and Maradun – Makera roads.
Other Projects to be executed by Governor Dauda Lawal in the 2024 budget in Maradun local government, Alhaji Salihu Anka said includes:- the rehabilitation of government secondary school Gora Namaye, the upgrading of Maradun General Hospital, the construction of offices for mobile squadron, a magistrate court and residential buildings among others.
Alhaji Anka explained that, the State Governor, Dauda Lawal disclosed the development when he visited the local government recently, where he launched the distribution of fertiliser and other agricultural facilities to farmers of the area under the Fadama ||| Programme.
DG Nuhu Anka said during the launch, Governor Dauda who assured the farmers of the area of his Government’s commitment to supporting the agricultural sector for it’s growth and development, requested the beneficiaries to take advantage of the opportunity to increase their yields and contribute to the growth of agricultural sector across the state.
Speaking earlier, he said the Sole Administrator of the area, Alhaji Yahaya Giwa Maradun showed his appreciation and that of the people of the area to the Governor for solving the parennial water problem they have been facing for decades, within six months of his tenure as the state governor.
However, in his remarks, he said
Emir of Maradun, Sarkin Kaya, Alhaji Garba Muhammad Tambari, who described Governor Dauda Lawal as an embodiment of unity, Peace and Development, thanked him for what he has been doing to not only Maradun but the state at large.
Alhaji Nuhu Salihu Anka disclosed that, Maradun which is the headquarters of Maradun local government and Country home to former Governor Bello Matawalle has been without good roads network, Potable drinking water and other social amenities for decades.
DG, Anka said in the Governor’s entourage were the State Deputy Governor, Honourable Mani Malam Mummuni, Secretary to the state government, Abubakar Nakwada, Chief of staff, Alhaji Mukhtar Luggage, Honourable Commissioners, Special Advisers and host of other dignitaries.
