The Manager Editor FactualTimes Online, Oyewale Oyelola has charged Nigerian youth to use social media productively and improve their relationship management skills.

Oyewale Oyelola gave this on Friday when he visited the Countryside Emerging Leader Fellows (CELF) camp for 2021 fellows in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

He said “Social media is not just a platform to engage friends and family or entertainment platform. It’s a place where you can add value to yourself and promote your brand. Avoid wasting time on social media, if you don’t engage in meaningful and productively conversations.

He encouraged 32 Fellows drawn from all the local government areas in Kwara State to use social media productively and avoid distractions.

The Media Practitioner who is also a lecturer at the Department of Mass Communication, Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti advised them to leverage on their strengths and take steps to improve weaknesses.

“You need to be a good ambassador of your community, local government, kwara state and Nigeria at large. CELF organizers created this platform to groom you to become a change agenda and critical player in community development.

“You also need to start networking and build relationship with other fellows because nobody can succeed in isolation. We all need one another to grow. ” Oyelola added.

The FactualTimes Editor appreciated CELF Convener, Lawal Olohungbebe for giving him the privilege to share my thoughts with the fellows, noting that ‘they are investing heavily on the future of participants.’

CELF is an educational intervention, is aimed at building the capacity of young people, particularly in rural areas to drive development in their various communities organized by Haashim Initiative for Community Advancement (HICA) and Hannis Institute for Development Studies (HIDS)
