Yobe: Prof. Bewarang Unveils New Testament Bible In Kare-Kare Dialect

Former President and the Current Chairman Board of Trustee, Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Reverend Professor Soja Bewarang has unveiled the maiden Kare-Kare New Testament Bible in Potiskum, the headquarters of Potiskum Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The clergy charged the Kare-Kare tribe to ensure they use the Bible both at church worships and at home for their spiritual growth and preaching the gospel.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of the Kare-Kare Bible language translation, Mr. Yusuf Musa revealed the move for the translation of the New Testament Bible into Kare-Kare language began in early seventies, but could not see the light of the day until now.
According to him, almost all the pioneer committee members have been called to glory, with the recent demise of Elder Andrew Njayo who was the chairman until his death.
Among the sons and daughters of Kare-Kare tribe, Professor Dauda Bitrus Bawa who was the chief launcher at the occasion, expressed  happiness for witnessing the day after years of struggle.  
According to him, the unveiling of the New Testament Bible would support the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ among the Kare-Kare tribe.
In her remarks, the Executive Director, Nigerian Bible Translation Trust represented by Value Josephine, thanked the committee for working hard to ensure the News Testament is launched.  
She also urged the Yobe State Government for introducing Kare-Kare dialect into its curriculum to be taught in primary schools, being one of the major languages in the state.
Highlight of the occasion was singing of the National Anthem, Bible Recitation and Special Numbers in Kare-Kare dialect as well as the launching of the New Testament  Bible.
