Yobe: NEYIF, Muslim Valley Distributes 50 Hand Tricycles To Polio Survivors

A group North East Youth Initiative for Development (NEYIF) in partnership with Muslim Valley and Isa Chikaji Foundation has distributed hand tricycles for 50 physically challenged persons resulting from polio deficiency across Gujba, Tarmuwa and Damaturu local government councils of Yobe State.

Making the presentations on behalf of the partners, the Executive Director of NEYIF, Dauda Muhammad Gombe revealed, the aim was to ensure that the survivors have a means of transportation.

“This is a donation of 50 hand tricycles to polio survivors across Damaturu, Tarmuwa and Gujba local government in Yobe state.  It is a gesture from Muslim Valley, Intellectual Development Initiative and Isa Chikaji Foundation which is implemented by the North East Youth Initiative for Development (NEYIF)”.

“The aim was to assist the survivors to get means of transportation to schools, place of craft learning and as well end the challenge of street begging that is common in the northern part of the country” he said.

The Emir of Damaturu represented by the Waziri, Mai Sanda Lawan and Chairman of Tarmuwa Local Government represented by Abubakar Kachalla thanked the organisations for supporting the people with special needs.

The groups who are also into construction of boreholes, provision of scholarships to different categories of people in the state.

The leadership of the people with special needs in the state who also participated in the presentation charged other groups in the state to emulate the North East Youth Initiative for Development by supporting their members.
