World Cancer Day: Remi Tinubu Urges Nigerians To Support, Care For  Patients

The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has enjoined Nigerians to continue to show care, love, empathy and support for cancer patients and survivors.

ln her message  on Sunday to mark World Cancer Day, Mrs Tinubu urged Nigerians to deepen efforts in putting in place necessary infrastructure to address the health challenges towards better care for cancer patients and survivors.

According  to her, “This year’s World Cancer Day presents an important opportunity to raise awareness and elaborate further the message of prevention, early detection, and treatment of cancer.”

With the theme for this year, ‘Closing the Care Gap’, she stated that the theme speaks to the fact that people are to deepen their efforts in putting in place necessary infrastructure to address the health challenges towards better care for cancer patients and survivors.

The First Lady opined that no one should have to face the challenges of cancer alone, urging Nigerians to continue to show empathy, care, love, and support for cancer patients and survivors, even as they create more awareness and advocacy for better service delivery.

She stressed the need to celebrate those who are cancer free.
