The Convener, Coalition of Northwest APC Active Youth Forums and Stakeholders, Amb. Bello Shehu Tijjani told journalists on Tuesday that the Coalition endorsed the candidature of Hon Dayo Israel as their preferred APC national youth leader because he has all it takes to help the party in it’s subsequent engagements.
Addressing a press conference at the popular Arewa House, Kaduna, the Convener further told the crowd in attendance that, their candidate has been tested and trusted with leadership position abinitio.
“We have started receiving sufficient attention from comrades and politicians in APC, seeking for our support and endorsement for their prime candidates. But of course, one needs to be very careful in the choice of credentials, integrity and antecedence of the candidates.
“As we set to elect new leadership that will paddle the affairs of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the next four years, we are obliged to really support for young and energetic competent party man like Dayo Israel in the interest of the progress of our party.
“We are card-carrying members. We also have among us, political activists, young professionals and CEOs who believe in the promotion of hard work and competence in governance and politics.
“So, Hon. Dayo Israel’s sterling qualities are consolidating aspect of the entire process. He has all it takes to contest for the position and bring new changes for youth development in APC and Nigeria at large.
“Hon. Dayo Israel was named one of the 100 most influential people of African descent (under the age of 35) as part of the 2017 celebration of the UN Decade for people of Africa Descent at the One UN Plaza in New York.
“Dayo has twice been recognized, in 2016 and 2017 as one of 50 UK’s brightest young leaders. He was also recognized as one of the top 25 promising Nigerian youths under 35 to serve Nigeria in 2016 and as one of Africa’s top 30 most inspirational young people of 2013.
“He will bring excellent credentials and administrative expertise to the position of APC National Youth Leader and ss an aspirant for national youth leader of the APC, Dayo Israel has proved beyond reasonable doubt the power of harmonizing the APC youth structure by creating an effective working relationship between youth leaders as contained within the official party structure, and affiliated youth groups with the mandate of mobilizing young Nigerians for the party.
“Dayo has worked on various projects for the past 10 years at different levels of hierarchy in youth’s development and he currently serves the Governor of Lagos State as an Executive Permanent Board Member of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, overseeing quality assurance of all public primary schools in Lagos State. Before that, he served as a Legislative Aide in the National Assembly of Nigeria which gave him both executive and parliamentary experience.
