*Says Udom used and dumped them In 2015, 2019

In Akwa Ibom State, a middle-aged lady, Mrs. Affiong Moses, whose picture surfaced online on January 17, 2023 putting on wrapper with Governor Udom Emmanuel’s face while attending a YPP rally in Nsit Atai Local Government Area, has given reasons why she did that.
According to Mrs. Moses, a retired school teacher, she got the wrapper in 2019 during the campaigns for Udom Emmanuel’s re-election and has never used it, though she was a ward woman leader of the PDP.
“I am Mrs. Affiong Moses. I will tender my resignation as a PDP ward woman leader in Nsit Atai Local Government Area. We suffered to get Udom Emmanuel elected in 2015 and in 2019, we did same. I was in Akwa Ibom Consolidation Alliance (ACA), and Bishop Unwanta was our international leader. We pushed for Udom to be governor, and after that, he pushed all of us aside. Udom forgot about us since then, only to come out and ask us for our voters’ cards in exchange of N10,000.
“I am a retired primary school teacher. Udom, after verification exercise since 2021, has refused to pay our gratuities despite the huge amounts that come into the state. I came here to publicly set that his uséless wrapper on fire”, she said.
On which party she wishes to align, she said “I am defecting to YPP. I and other ward women leaders will mobilize our people to support the YPP and shame he who deserves shame at the polls. He deserves shame, and he will see shame at the poll in his attempt to run for a third term using a mannequin,” she added.
Speaking further to New Nigerian in Uyo, Mrs. Moses said, “YPP is a new face of development in Akwa Ibom. Its governorship candidate, Obong Bassey Akpan (OBA) by our reading and observation has a capacity to make things better in Akwa Ibom. He will not be like Udom Emmanuel, who used us to win election in 2015 and 2019 yet we never saw anything to show for our sacrifice for his election.
“You are a journalist, you should know better that Akwa Ibom people need OBA, Akwa Ibom people need fresh leaves with fresh breathe. Need someone who is down to earth, and understands the problems facing them as a state, not self-centered governor. In this capacity is why everyone wants OBA.
“Udom’s secret plan to rule through a surrogate will fail him, Akwa Ibom people are not fools. He earlier stated that he won’t seek third term through surrogate and that he will go when his tenure finished in 2023 but what we are seeing now is the opposite. This, we are saying will not work and we will proof to him at the poll,” Enough is enough,” Mrs. Moses sounded.
