In his effort to better the lives of his constituents through the provision of basic infrastructure and social amenities, the Senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District and former governor of the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has donated a 300KVA power transformer to Mabera Area Community.
A statement signed by Bashar Abubakar, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Senator said that Mabera is one of the communities with large population suffering acute electricity supply due to absence of functional transformer to serve them.
This is not the first time Senator Wamakko’s gesture to the community on donation of electricity transformer has impacted residents in areas as those domiciled around at Sheikh Musa Ayuba Lukuwa’s Jumu’at Mosque, Sokoto South Local Government Area of the state emerged the latest beneficiary of the 300KVA transformer.
According to the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker represented by Alhaji Ahmed Baba Altine who presented the item, said it is in fulfilment of his promises and responsibility to his constituents on whose mandate he is serving as Senator.
“It is part of the Senator’s sustained efforts to ensure that his constituents are enjoying the dividends of democracy at all times”, Altine stressed.
He explained that the donation is sequel to a complaint to the Senator by members of the community, adding that, ” Wamakko in his unassuming manner and magnanimity, directed that a 300KVA transformer be installed for them to ease their hardship.”
He noted that the residents were faced with the acute electricity supply for some time, while charging them to safeguard and make good and optimal use of the facility.
Meanwhile, Zayyanu Yahaya and Sani Marshall who are among the benefitting residents, thanked Senator Wamakko for the timely gesture explaining that they had stayed in darkness for lack of electricity.
