Anchor University Vice chancellor, Professor Samuel Bandele has ascribed the feat achieved by Miss. Nkechinyere Kamsiyo Chukwu Umeh to the core values of the Deeper Life Schools imbibed by all their students, particularly DLHS students, which was manifested in the  2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination (UTME)  conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) recently.

Prof. Bandele made this disclosure during interaction with New Nigerian Newspapers during a press conference held recently at Anchor University in Ayobo, Lagos.

The University Don stressed that quality attention is placed on the academic, spiritual, and moral development of all their students saying that these core values have impacted positively on all and sundry within the system.

“There is quality attention not only on the classroom acquisition of secular knowledge but on the out-of-classroom admonition on morals and spiritual development with priority on core values defined by character, competence, and courage.

“In all our schools- either at Anchor University or Deeper Life High Schools, we are molders of life and makers of leaders for a better Nigeria and the world at large”, he stated with candour.

The academic scholar averred that he was not surprised about the performance of these students at the last UTME exams assuring that the school authorities would continue to support all their students to achieve their ambition in life.

However, the AUL management has awarded a full scholarship to Nkechinyere who scored 360 as she was also named as the institution’s Young Ambassador for 2022/2023 academic session.

The VC also added that the scholarship would enable her to pursue any course of her choice in the institution for free.

He stated further that there would be a high percentage reduction in tuition fees for the next 50 students from Deeper Life  High Schools who scored  250 and above in the UTME and gained admission into the university for the 2023/2024 session.

According to him: “rewarding Nkechinyere and others is to celebrate excellence and encourage healthy competition, hard work, and commitment among the students”.

He equally hailed the National Head of Deeper Life high school and the Education Secretary of the church’s group of schools, Mrs. T.O Malaka, for consistently producing well-rounded students and graduates.

He seized the opportunity to announce the commencement of the 2023/2024 admissions exercise even as he disclosed that the school has begun Post Graduate Studies in Computer Science, Microbiology, and Business Administration.
