Uba Sani Redeems Campaign Promise: Commissions Kudan Township Stadium

Governor Uba Sani on Saturday, fulfilled a campaign promise of youth and sports development by completing and commissioning a township stadium in Kudan, Kaduna State.

The governor amidst fanfare in the company of important dignitaries, government functionaries, sports administrators and enthusiasts, including former Super Eagles player Tijjani Babangida,  vowed to take sports to rural areas hence, the motive of building a stadium complex in Kudan.

Governor Uba Sani emphasized  unifying and life transforming ability of sports in the life of youth, adding that his administration would not relent in ensuring that sporting events and steady competitions become part of life of rural dwellers so professionals could be produced from these areas. 

He vowed to maintain  and keep in good shape the newly commissioned stadium and other sports facilities in the State through regular maintenance.

Kaduna Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos who was part of the governor’s entourage to the venue reiterated the resolves of Uba Sani to fulfil every item in his campaign promises, including sports development.

Sadiq in an interview with newsmen underscored the importance of sports as an agent of positive change in lives of youth.

He disclosed that he had earlier inaugurated organizing committee for Uba Sani Unity Cup to be headed by an ex international Tijjani Babangida.

He added that the committee was saddled with the responsibility of organizing  competitions among all 23 local governments in the State and creating professionals in the process.

Mamman Lagos lamented absence of a known thriving football club in Kaduna State, adding that Uba Sani would ensure emergence of one and others in the nearest future.

He said raw talents would be recruited through competitions at the grassroots and also serve as a tool for keeping the youth from drug abuse and other antisocial behaviours detrimental to peaceful coexistence in the society.

He said Uba Sani as a passionate lover of sports and youth development would not relent until Kaduna State becomes a hub in recreational activities in Africa and beyond.
