Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State on Monday, officially launched the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign ahead of the October 19 local government elections.

During the event at Murtala Square on Monday, he presented party flags to APC candidates from the 23 local government areas.

The event, led by Governor Sani and Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, saw the attendance of notable figures, including former Governor Dr.Mukhtar Ramalan Yero and Dr. Abubakar Mustapha, both of whom recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

Governor Sani expressed confidence that the APC would secure victory in the elections, citing the large turnout as a show of strong support for the party’s candidates.

He emphasized the party’s focus on rural revitalization, a key priority given the majority of voters in rural areas.

The governor highlighted some of the administration’s accomplishments, including the construction of 62 roads and 60 primary schools across the state. In addition, 290 primary healthcare centers were equipped, covering 255 wards.

He noted the government’s investments in the healthcare sector, particularly in rebuilding nine general hospitals, reaffirming that healthcare is a right, not a privilege.

Sani also praised the government’s financial inclusion efforts, stating that over 2.5 million vulnerable residents have been brought into the financial system, with N1.9 million benefitting from social intervention programmes.

He noted the reduction of poverty and the improved school enrollment rates in Kaduna.

Governor Sani acknowledged the peaceful atmosphere in the state and the role of traditional and community leaders in maintaining it.

He further lauded the APC’s success in attracting over 200,000 PDP members, signaling the party’s growing influence.

He assured that the APC’s newly elected local government leaders would continue to drive the party’s agenda, focusing on rural development and transparency.
