Tributes Pour In As Late  Deeper Life Swaziland Pastor Is  Laid To Rest In Akwa Ibom

The oil city of Eket in Akwa Ibom State played host to people from all walks of life who gathered at its sports stadium, to bid farewell to a renowned Pastor, Christian missionary and the National General Overseer of Deeper Life Bible Church, Mbabane, Swaziland, the late Pastor Samuel Udo-Mbang.

Speaking at the funeral service on Saturday, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel described the deceased as an “African soldier of the Cross, Warrior for Christ and Ambassador of Faith” in Swaziland, where he served.

Represented by his deputy, Mr Moses Ekpo, Governor Emmanuel, extended the condolences of the government and  people of Akwa Ibom State to the family of the departed clergy. 

He told the wife of the deceased, Mrs Comfort Samuel Udo-Mbang, to be consoled by the fact that her late husband lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation and has gone to be with his Creator.

Mr Emmanuel said that though Pastor Udo-Mbang may no longer be with the family, his life of service to humanity, and the many lives he  impacted, will stand him out as a man who used the blessings of God for good.

“As he goes home to be with the Lord, I urge you to be consoled by the life of deep impact he has left behind and the souls he helped to bring to Christ. These are his legacies which will be sustained long after he has left us,” the governor added.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, in a tribute, described the death of his maternal uncle as a great loss.

Comrade Ememobong, said the values his uncle taught them had not only been helpful but have made them well focused citizens, adding that he will continue to honour his memory by preserving his ideals in education, leadership, mentorship and evangelism.

The biography of the deceased read by his daughter, described late Pastor Samuel Udo-Mbang as a builder of human capacity who will be remembered by his numerous mentees and Christendom as one who served God with devotion and deployed his youthful energies in spreading the gospel of Christ. 

Apart from working in the Vineyard of the Lord, the late Pastor Samuel Udo-Mbang was also an educationist who served in different capacities. 

He was also a school founder.
