The Federal government has been called upon to treat the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as Boko Haram are been treated in the North, and also demand for compensation of lives lost and properties during the crisis in the southern part.
The Northern Consensus Movement, a coalition of
Northern groups and activists interested in the progress and development of the region under the auspices of the Arewa Consultative Youth Forum made the call at a media briefing in Kaduna.
The group said it observed the growing attacks on northerners by the southerners with virulent separatist sentiments, in which many innocent northerners have been killed in cold blood with their businesses and properties been destroyed according to them.

Spokesman of the group, Jibrilla Gadzama said there is need for the federal government to intensify security of northerners in the South Eastern part of the country and that the group deemed it necessary call on the  government to address the issue and security of northerners living in the south eastern part of Nigeria.
“It is necessary for all Nigerians to live with one another as a pre-requisite to nation building” he noted.
According to him, the solution to the lingering problems
between different regions in the country is for the government to encourage the National Assembly to begin debate on regional
autonomy for all regions in the country.
