Top Politicians, Technocrats, Others To Receive TGNews Award  Jan 6 2024

The management of Adamawa based online news portal also known as The General News (TGNews) has concluded finishing touches to reward a number of individuals for their immense contributions towards nation building.

A statement by the chairman of information and strategy sub-committee, Mohammed Ismail, said the award is meant to recognize and reward, merit, excellence, talent dedication and exceptional service delivery.

Ismail noted that the award which is classified into four distinct categories, will serve as a morale booster for individuals to strive for excellence knowing that such landmark strides are being noted and recorded.

The four categories for the award include; award for excellence in leadership, meritorious service award, award for dedication and quality service and unsung heroes award.

Those who will be conferred with the 2024 edition of award of excellence in leadership include Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, immediate past Secretary to the  Government of Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha, former Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow and the member representing Fufore/Song Federal Constituency in the house of Representatives, Hon. Aliyu Wakili Boya. 

Those to be conferred with meritorious service award include; Arch Bishop Panti Philibus, Sheikh Nuruddeen Khalid, HRH Kurhaye Hassan Dishon Dansanda II, Kwandi Nunguraya, HRM Daniel Shaga Ismaila, Hama Bachama, HRH Umar Sanda, Gangwari Ganye, HRH Abubakar Isa Ahmadu Emir of Mubi and Alhaji Abubakar Murtala, Dan Lawan Mubi and district head of Belel.

Personalities who will be conferred with  award for dedication and quality service include; Rear Admiral Jamila Malafa (Rtd.), Prof. Umar Pate, Dr. Abdullahi Dauda Belel, Barr. Chafari Kanya Shadrack and Mal. Hamisu Idris Medugu.

Those to be conferred with TGNews unsung heroes award include; Ado Mohammed, a shoe cobbler and a groundnut seller, Mohamad Rabiu.

According to Ismail, TGNews which started operations eight years ago has blazed the trail in the areas of providing factual and investigative news reportage, making it one of the most viable source of news and report not only in Adamawa State, but the North East and Nigeria in general.

He noted that the news portal is currently repositioning itself to be a formidable force in multimedia operations that will compete favourably with other multimedia outlets across the globe.

He further said that the award ceremony on January 6,  2024 will  be held at the Hall of Lelewal Hotel, Jimeta-Yola North Local Government Adamawa State opposite State Polytechnic Yola (SPY).
